Hospitals trust stage drop-in event in Nantwich

Patients, carers and members of the public are being invited to learn more about long-term neurological conditions at a special event taking place at Nantwich Civic Hall. The “drop-in” event, co-ordinated by Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MCHFT) and Central and Eastern Cheshire Primary Care Trust (CECPCT), will take place on Thursday October 13, 10.30am to 3.30pm.

A patient in Leighton Hospital who was suspected of suffering from leptospirosis does not have the deadly infection, tests have shown. The patient was in intensive care displaying symptoms of the condition, also known as Weil’s Disease, which is caught in rivers and canals infected by rat urine.

Exclusive Doctors are probing a suspected human case of the potentially deadly disease leptospirosis, thought to have been contracted in the River Weaver in Nantwich. It’s believed a patient in intensive care at Leighton Hospital has displayed symptoms of the condition, also known as Weil’s Disease.
