GENERAL ELECTION: Eddisbury result, Edward Timpson (CON) elected
Edward Timpson has been elected as Eddisbury MP for the Conservative Party.
Mr Timpson polled 30,095 votes, beating his nearest opponent Labour’s Terry Savage who secured 11,652.

The acting chief executive at Cheshire East Council, who was due to be made permanent next Thursday, is quitting to take on a new role in St Helens.
Candidates for the permanent chief executive position were interviewed by Cheshire East’s staffing committee in November.
Nantwich residents face a 7.5% hike in their town council portion of the council tax bill – to help fund new initiatives like a new Town Ranger.
The authority also wants to increase council tax to bump up its reserves to a projected £193,000.

Thirteen new rapid response rescue units could soon be introduced across Cheshire including one in Nantwich in an effort to cut the number of deaths on the county’s roads.
