Man arrested after crime spree including burglary in Nantwich

A man has been arrested after a crime spree across Cheshire and North wales, including a burglary in Nantwich.

A property was broken into in the Stapeley area on July 15. The house was burgled and a vehicle stolen from the driveway.

Tories call for Cheshire East Council change to cabinet system

Cheshire East needs to seek government advice on how quickly it can switch to a cabinet system because of an urgent need to speed up decision-making, the Conservatives said.

Knutsford councillor Tony Dean (Con) even asked if it was possible to decide within 24 hours if there were any emergency powers which could be introduced to speed up decision-making, describing the pace of change currently as “snail-like”.

The target has soared by more than 150% from 997 dwellings per annum to 2,471, following changes brought in by the Labour government.
