Carole Thomas died suddenly but peacefully at her home aged 86.

South Cheshire farmers protest over inheritance tax plans
Farmers in South Cheshire gathered in Nantwich today to protest against the Government’s plans to impose Inheritance Tax on some family farms.

Crewe & Nantwich MP Connor Naismith to vote for new “Assisted Dying” bill
Crewe & Nantwich MP Connor Naismith has confirmed he will be voting in favour of the Assisted Dying Private Members Bill (Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill).
The details of the bill have now been published and MPs have been told they can vote how they wish as “it is a matter of conscience”.
Nantwich Town Council proposes 8% rise in its Council Tax
Nantwich Town Council is proposing to raise its portion of Council Tax by 8% in 2025-26.
Councillors have agreed to put the plan out for public consultation until December 8.

Motorists are being warned to be aware of controversial changes to car parks in Cheshire East which go live from Monday December 2.

Confused drivers paying for “free” parking in Nantwich

Drivers are paying to use a Nantwich car park when they don’t have to because of confusion over official signs.
Official signs on Snow Hill car park say charges apply until 6pm. But an old laminated A4 sheet higher up says it’s “free after three”.
