Organisers are busy plotting the 40th World Worm Charming championships which take place in Willaston next month.

The event – now known worldwide – will once again take place in the grounds of Willaston Primary Academy near Nantwich.

A Bronze Age house is being reconstructed by English Heritage volunteers at Beeston Castle near Nantwich – 4,000 years after it disappeared.

Workers are using authentic tools and archaeological evidence informed by the recent discoveries at the Bronze Age settlement in Cambridgeshire as well as earlier discoveries at Beeston Castle.

Ten dads and teachers from St Oswald’s CE Primary School in Worleston have teamed up to tackle the Chester Half Marathon on May 19 and help raise funds for a much-loved mum.

Heidi Spencer, 45, from Burland, and a mother-of-two young boys at the school, is battling stage 4 cancer of the lungs and brain.
