Burglars targeted two neighbouring homes in Nantwich, stealing a hoard of jewellery.
The properties, on Broad Lane in Stapeley, were broken into in broad daylight.

Two people who died in a horror smash on the A530 near Nantwich have been named as John and Rosemary Patterson, from Nantwich.
The couple were travelling on Whitchurch Road in their black Citroen C4 when it was in collision with a DAF box van.

It began with a parade – led by bagpiper Reg Flower and drummer Rob Richardson – from the Park Drive/Westfield Drive junction to the Eric Swan Sports Ground.

The accident involving a lorry and a car closed the road while air ambulances transferred injured people to Royal Stoke University Hospital.

A horse was rescued in a two-hour operation by fire crews to pull it from a water-filled ditch in Hatherton near Nantwich.
