Nantwich Museum to stage LGBT History of Cheshire talk
A “Pride in the Provinces: an LGBT History of Cheshire” talk will take place at Nantwich Museum on Saturday July 16.
The talk coincides with the planned Nantwich Pride event on the same day.

The Wingate Centre in Wrenbury is to host its 11th Teddy Bears Picnic and family fete at Cholmondeley Castle on July 17.
The event, 11am-4pm, includes a Teddy Bear Hunt, Name the Teddy, Dog Show, Mirabel and Spiderman, Art and Crafts, Market Stalls, Teddy Tombola, Lucky Dip, Hook a Duck, Face Painting, Bouncy Castles, Balloon Animals, Fire Engine and more.
Organisers of the “Nanocon” Nantwich Comic Con event say it will now be free entry.

The 42nd “World Worm Charming Championships” made a welcome return to Willaston as hundreds competed for the prized trophies for the first time in three years.

Nantwich Food Festival organisers are holding a Volunteer evening on July 12 in a bid to recruit to boost numbers ahead of this year’s event.

Local rail enthusiasts have been staging popular train rides once more at the Peacock Railway near Nantwich.
The days are organised by the South Cheshire Model Engineering Society and take place on their premises at the rear of The Peacock Inn, on Crewe Road, Willaston.
Nantwich Concert Band will be joining up with Stapeley Broad Lane School Choir to stage a rousing performance next month.
They will perform a concert at Nantwich Civic Hall on Sunday July 10 from 7pm.

Talented South Cheshire photographer Peter Robinson is offering portrait photography sessions to help raise funds for charity.
The 66-year-old will stage the sessions in Shavington Village Hall, on Main Road, on Sunday July 10 with half-hour sessions available from 10am until 5pm.

Thousands enjoyed the return of the Wybunbury Fig Pie Wakes event yesterday (June 11) for the first time since 2019 due to the pandemic, writes Jonathan White.
Fig pies, made from a traditional recipe containing a hard pastry, were rolled from The Swan Inn pub down Main Road to see how far they would travel.
