Councillors back plans to transform mental health care in Cheshire East

Councillors have endorsed plans to transform mental health care across Cheshire East, Northwich and Winsford.
NHS Eastern Cheshire, South Cheshire and Vale Royal clinical commissioning groups (CCGs), the organisations which buy healthcare across the area, approved plans to improve services for adult mental health and dementia patients last November.

Angry Nantwich residents have rubbished Cheshire East Council for delays to the delivery of new wheelie bins they’ve had to fork out for.
The new £30 wheelie bin charge was brought in late last year, which families moving in to new developments like Stapeley Gardens and Kingsbourne are paying.

The RSPCA is now appealing for help to trace those who ditched the pigs they have named Peppa and George.
227 Cheshire drivers arrested for drink or drug driving in festive crackdown
Cheshire Police arrested 227 county drivers during its festive crackdown on drink or drug driving.
Among those were 25 people in Crewe and Nantwich area arrested for driving under influence of drugs – the highest of any area of the county, and a rise on previous years.
