The “Aspects of Cheshire” exhibition by members of Cheshire Artists Network (CAN) has opened at Nantwich Museum.

The exhibition, which will run until April 14, depicts aspects of the county including impressions of the landscape, interesting places and things seen on a regular basis.

A Nantwich police chief said he was “sickened” when he viewed CCTV footage of a teenage gang attacking a young man on Beam Street.

Sgt Ian Bennett, who leads the Nantwich policing team, described the attack as “horrendous” and said the 23-year-old victim was lucky to only suffer minor injuries.

Two goals from Rob Hopley condemned Nantwich Town to a 4-1 defeat to Cheshire rivals Witton Albion despite Sean Cooke netting his tenth league goal of the season.

Cooke had pulled a goal back for the Dabbers in the 70th minute with a fine free kick after Hopley and James Foley had given the hosts a two-goal lead at the break.
