Cheshire East bids to build new 3G pitch at Crewe playing fields

Cheshire East Council is hoping to make a formal application for funding for a 3G pitch at a Crewe playing field next year – once it has secured a development partner.

The council says there is a shortfall of two 3G pitches within the Crewe area.

George and Dragon hammered 13 passed Brighton Belle in the only Crewe Regional Sunday League game to survive the big freeze.

The match was able to go ahead after teams agreed to move it on to a 3G pitch with all other games off due to frozen grass surfaces.
