For more than 40 years the troops of The Sealed Knot have gathered in Nantwich to re-enact the battle that took place in 1644.

A family has appealed for help to trace a ‘priceless’ engagement ring believed lost during the Battle of Nantwich re-enactment on Saturday.

Cath and Rod Cameron were watching the annual spectacle on Mill Island in Nantwich with their five-year-old grandson when Cath noticed her ring had come off her finger.

Battle of Nantwich ‘Holly Holy Day’ set to take town by storm

Organisers of the annual Battle of Nantwich “Holly Holy Day” are laying on another feast of entertainment as the town again commemorates the infamous English Civil War clash in Cheshire.

Every year, the town has remembered what happened on January 25, 1644 when the Parliamentarians defeated the Royalists in a battle in the Henhull area to end the siege of the town.
