Council bosses have agreed to offer Nantwich four FREE car parking days in the run up to Christmas.
The scheme is designed to boost the town’s economy in the festive season as local traders recover from the pandemic.

Car parking charges look set to be introduced in Middlewich, Sandbach, Alsager and other Cheshire East towns which are free at the moment.
Sunday charging is also on the cards, with Cheshire East planning to introduce a flat £1 rate for stays longer than an hour across all council-owned paying car parks in the borough on Sundays and Bank Holidays.

I am writing to you, to express my concerns about the way in which the Council has handled the closure of the unofficial St Anne’s Lane car park (in Nantwich)
Councillors across Crewe and Nantwich today urged residents to take part in a Cheshire East Council public consultation on plans to revamp car parking provision and parking charges.
Authority chiefs say results will influence plans on changes to parking provision and charges as well as “inform the future direction of how to improve transport, walking and cycling in our towns”.

Labour-run Cheshire East Council are going to allow just four free days of parking in Crewe and Nantwich a year.
This is just a sop to the mountain of criticism the Labour Council has received from ‘Putting Crewe First’ and many others, for re-introducing car park charges after the lockdown.
Cheshire East Council has offered Nantwich residents and visitors four days of free car parking later this year.
However, the offer is unlikely to appease many who are angry at parking charges being re-introduced by the authority after suspension of charges during lockdown.
Cheshire East residents who face higher car parking fees have forked out more than £360 for the Council Leader to park her car in the past three years.
The figures – obtained through Freedom of Information – are revealed on the day Leader Cllr Rachel Bailey and her Conservative colleagues voted to increase car parking charges across the borough.
