The head of Cheshire East’s children’s services has said she should have known “things were not as good as they needed to be” in response to the “inadequate” rating by Ofsted.

Deborah Woodcock, executive director of children’s services, was speaking as councillors fired question after question at her in a children and families committee meeting.

Nantwich care leavers launch Easy Pleasy cookbook

Young care leavers in Crewe and Nantwich have been sharing their colourful recipe for eating on a budget – a cookbook with the celebrity seal of approval.

The youngsters, supported by The Children’s Society, produced the Levi Roots-endorsed Easy Pleasy Cookbook to help young people leaving care to eat healthily on a budget.
