Pupils from a Nantwich school will be joining in The Last Post national initiative to honour those who died in World War One.
Malbank School and Sixth Form College will stage one of 200 community-led events between November 4 and 18 where the iconic ceremonial call will be played on different instruments.
Events and organisations in the Nantwich area are in line for community grants from Cheshire East Council. Cash is set to be dished out to help groups stage events and fund developments in the area.
Big-hearted volunteers and top performers were celebrated at the Crewe and Nantwich Community Awards 2013. The event, held at Richmond Village in Nantwich, recognises people in the community who dedicate their time helping others and raising money for charity.
Nantwich-based radio station The Cat has launched its 2nd Community Awards and is calling for nominations. There are five categories including Long Service to the Community, Local Volunteer of the Year, Local Fundraiser of the Year, Achievement of the Year and Young Person of The Year.
