A charity group which has raised vital hospital funds in South Cheshire for half a century is to close down.
The League of Friends of Leighton Hospital will come to an end as it marks its 50th anniversary year at the hospital.
A fund-raising Leighton Hospital group is not taking a decision to axe its charity stall lying down! Members of Leighton Hospital League of Friends were devastated when trust chiefs said the stall in the main out-patients area had to be closed because of refurbishment.
Free teddy bears are being dished out to newborns at Leighton Hospital as part of a 40th anniversary. The bears are being handed out by the Leighton Hospital League of Friends team, which celebrates 40 years since its launch in 1973.
Leighton Hospital volunteers have been thanked as part of a 40-year celebration. Volunteers from groups who work alongside Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust staff, attended the event.
