A table-top sale is taking place this weekend in aid of Leighton Hospital’s One in Eleven Appeal. The event, at the Oakley Centre in Crewe on Sunday (May 20), will see dozens of stalls and activities for youngsters.

University Hospital of North Staffordshire (UHNS) has been designated as the area’s local Major Trauma Centre, and will be supported by Leighton Hospital as a Major Trauma Unit.

An 83-year-old woman who was hit by a lorry in Nantwich and trapped underneath, is still recovering in hospital. The victim, believed to be from the Nantwich area, was knocked down when the HGV was reversing in a car park off Beam Heath Way, Nantwich.

Work is underway to revamp maternity services at Leighton Hospital. It will see a new purpose-built midwife-led unit attached to the main labour ward to provide care for low-risk pregnancies.
Nantwich patients will see changes made to the entrance and waiting area of Leighton Hospital’s Eye Care Centre. The Eye Care Centre’s reception will be relocated and merged with the waiting area of the Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) department.
