Nantwich Sainsbury’s store has teamed up with United Churches of Crewe to help homeless people in the area. Churches have joined forces throughout the winter to offer overnight accommodation and meals to people living on the streets.
A young Nantwich woman will be taking part in Combat Challenge’s first ever female cage fighting bout. Anya Lynette Hynes, of Wrenbury, will compete in the event at the four-star Cedar Court Hotel in Bradford on February 24.
Richmond Village Nantwich celebrated “Care and Dignity Day” with its residents who wrote on hearts what the words meant to them. The Village teamed up with Nantwich Sainsbury’s, on Middlewich Road, to offer cakes whose names began with the letters of the word ‘dignity’.

Staff and residents at Richmond Village Nantwich spearheaded the collection, which was boosted by employees at Sainsbury’s in Nantwich, local Cat Radio and Nantwich Police Station.
Hundreds of cuddly toys have been donated to Richmond Village Nantwich in aid of the Wingate Centre in Wrenbury. Richmond Village, off London Road, joined forces with the town’s Sainsbury’s store on Middlewich Road to launch the toy appeal.
Fund-raising feats at Richmond Village Nantwich have earned more than £4,000 for charity. Parkinson’s UK, Hope House, Cystic Fibrosis and Macmillan Cancer have all benefited from events held at the Village in 2011.
The Rotary Club of Nantwich Christmas fund-raising float will be out and about bringing joy to youngsters next week. Santa will be visiting Nantwich streets, supermarkets and the town square throughout December, raising money for local charities.
The cause of a huge fire at a Nantwich scrap metal yard which brought large parts of the town to a standstill, remains a mystery. Cheshire Fire and Rescue investigators have completed a six-week probe into the blaze at Garratt’s Metals, on Alvaston Business Park.
Richmond Village Nantwich staff have launched a cuddly toy appeal to collect furry friends and donate them to Wingate Centre. They have teamed up with charity champion Olywn Payton, who works ar Sainsbury’s in Middlewich Road, to run the appeal.
