Nantwich Players are spearheading a drive to develop a new arts and culture “vision” for the town. And the theatrical group believes a new venue with 140-160 seats could help cement the future for arts and performance in Nantwich.
More than 11,000 people have cast votes on whether Crewe should have its own town council similar to Nantwich. Cheshire East Council is urging residents not to lose their chance to vote on a vital ballot which closes today (Wednesday February 29) at 5pm.
Town councillors have hit out at the design of the proposed new Marks & Spencer store in Nantwich. Drawings of the store, planned on the site of the former Beam Street health clinic behind the library, were viewed by councillors at a meeting this week.
Nantwich residents could pay an extra £67 a year each for their town council to takeover the Civic Hall and other venues. Nantwich Town Council says a rise in its council tax precept is needed to run the Civic Hall, indoor market, public loos and allotments from April.
