Tribunal involving Cheshire East Council continues despite witness marriage to judge

A tribunal hearing involving Cheshire East Council and one of its former HR staff, could have been derailed after it emerged a witness was married to a judge.

Sue Wallace, a former HR officer from Connah’s Quay, took the case against Cheshire East Council after she was dismissed in December 2016.

A businessman and owner of a 14th century South Cheshire wedding venue has been jailed for 20 months for breaching serious fire safety rules.

Bosses of D&G Buses are scrapping the only direct service between Nantwich and Leighton Hospital.
Angry customers say the move to end the no. 78 service will leave many facing much longer journey times, having to travel to Crewe Bus Station and then changing to get a second service to the hospital.
