Nantwich teenager achieves Cheshire first at national swimming event

A Nantwich Seals swimmer has become the club’s first girl to compete for Cheshire in a national competition.

Laura Kirby, from Stapeley, was one of 20 swimmers to represent the county at the Inter County National Competition held at Ponds Forge, Sheffield.

A Nantwich man has completed the 300-mile Cancer Research Challenge to celebrate his 50th birthday!

Neil Tinsley, a volunteer for Nantwich Christie Hospital Support Group, saddled up and rode 300 miles throughout September.

Police and RSPCA continue to probe dog found dead in Nantwich canal

Police and RSPCA say they are continuing to investigate the death of a dog found in a canal in Nantwich with heavy chains around its body.

The grim discovery was made by walkers by bridge 89 which spans the Shropshire Union Canal south of Marsh Lane and north of the A530 Whitchurch Road.

Nantwich Town Council staff have created a town centre tribute to commemorate 100 years since guns fell silent on November 11 1918.
