South Cheshire family conquers Snowdon in aid of CRY after uncle death

A South Cheshire mum and her young children have conquered Snowdon in memory of her brother who died of Sudden Adult Death Syndrome aged just 20.

Alison Leigh and her children Milly, 11, Phoebe, 8 and George, 7,  wanted to raise funds and awareness for CRY– Cardiac Risk in the Young, in memory of brother and uncle Jonny.

Cheshire singer Tom Seals returns for Nantwich Words & Music Festival

Cheshire singer, songwriter and musician Tom Seals is among the headlining acts for this year’s Words & Music Festival with his band CC Smugglers.

Tom, from Shavington, who attended Ruskin High School in Crewe, made his name as a musician with The Tom Seals Band, where he supported the Bedfordshire band CC Smugglers and later joined them.

A battling second-half performance saw Nantwich Town come out on top of what was a very tight game against Farsley Celtic at the Weaver Stadium.

After absorbing a good amount of Farsley pressure to begin the game, Nantwich took the lead on twenty-one minutes when Sean Cooke played in James Lawrie who struck a lovely hit into the bottom corner.

Nurses and therapists are being praised after caring for thousands of housebound patients out of hospital in the first year of a new scheme.

The advanced community practitioner (ACP) rapid response service has been run as an alternative to hospital admission across mid and south Cheshire since October 2017, following a trial in Crewe last summer.

Mr Staley polled 602 votes in yesterday’s election, ahead of Labour’s Richard Banks (395) and Independent candidate Riddell Graham (304).
