Travellers breach injunction and break into Barony Park in Nantwich

Council and police chiefs need to take immediate action against travellers who breached a court injunction and broke on to Barony Park in Nantwich, said MP Kieran Mullan.

According to residents, travellers broke through the new park perimeter fencing and gained access to the park via Middlewich Road earlier this evening (March 29).

New data, sourced from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs also shows that Cheshire East Council collected 501.3kg of household waste per person from homes in the area in 2019-20 — 18.3kg more than five years earlier.

A South Cheshire homeless shelter will be able to support more people giving them somewhere safe and warm to go following funding from police and crime commissioner.

The Lighthouse Centre in Crewe will open its doors on Thursday evenings, inviting those in crisis or at risk of rough sleeping to receive a warm meal, shelter for the evening, access to the washing facilities and breakfast for the following day.
