Detectives release CCTV image in hunt for Crewe sex attacker

Detectives hunting a sex attacker after an assault more than six weeks ago have released a CCTV image of a man they want to trace.

The assault happened when the victim – a woman in her 30s – was walking along Market Street in Crewe at around 1.50am on October.

Councillors back calls for sprinklers rule in Cheshire East buildings

Cheshire East has backed calls for law changes to make sprinklers mandatory in some buildings and heard from a fire officer how ‘it’s tantamount to having a firefighter in each room’.

The council’s environment and communities committee voted unanimously to back Cheshire Fire Authority in its fight to make sprinklers compulsory in buildings such as care homes, houses in multiple occupation, schools and apartment blocks.

These cute otter cubs are undergoing specialist care at RSPCA Stapeley Grange in Nantwich after being orphaned when rivers overflowed in Lincolnshire and Yorkshire.

One of the juvenile otters arrived at RSPCA Stapeley Grange along with her sibling last month after they were both rescued near the River Witham at Grantham in Lincolnshire.

Cheshire East Council is waiting for government guidance on primary school SATS because the bank holiday for the King’s coronation clashes with the first day of the national tests.
