Plans to expand a fishery and leisure park near Nantwich to create a new lake and 19 holiday lodges have been recommended for approval despite parish council objections.
Coole Acres Fishery and Leisure Park at Newhall has applied to Cheshire East Council for permission to remodel hatchery ponds to create a new lake and to use land for 19 holiday lodges and two mobile camping pods.

Library opening hours in Nantwich and other towns look set to be reduced as Cheshire East Council struggles to balance its books.
The council says it is not proposing any library closures but it is looking at reducing opening hours during the week and on Saturdays.
Cheshire Police “safety buses” used in Nantwich and Crewe over Christmas and New Year have been hailed a success.
The buses were in Nantwich and Crewe for 12 nights and helped 377 people.

Plans to hike up existing parking charges in Cheshire East and introduce fees on free car parks will cripple town centre traders and drive cars on to residential streets, councillors said.
Members of Cheshire East’s highways and transport committee were unhappy they were being asked to give feedback on budget proposals to increase charges when very little detail was given.
