Nantwich Town Ladies FC suffered defeat away at Northwich Vixens as they got their pre-season campaign underway at The Park Stadium.
Dan Mellor’s players lost 3-2 with goals from Jade Buckley-Ratcliff and Dani Fisher-Sherratt for the Dabbers.
Nantwich Town’s manager Paul Carden has committed to the Dabbers for two more years.
Carden was brought in by the club during the 2022-23 season but despite an upturn in form was unable to save them from relegation.
Nantwich Town have teamed up with local employer Boughey Distribution in a three-year sponsorship deal.
The new partnership includes the company’s branding being placed around Swansway Stadium off Waterlode and on the club’s new training kits.

Nantwich Town’s 2023 Players’, Manager’s and Supporters’ Player of the Season Troy Bourne has signed a new contract.
Bourne will be staying with the Dabbers for at least the new 2023-24 season.
Nantwich Town hosted a special charity match to raise funds for The Christie cancer hospital.
It was organised by Ryan Jones, a first team coach for the Dabbers Ladies team, whose dad Allan has been undergoing cancer treatment at The Christie.

Nantwich Town Ladies skipper Claire Rathbone said the season had “exceeded all expectations” after they finished third in the Cheshire Women’s & Youth Football League Premier Division.
The Dabbers finished behind Ellesmere Port and Macclesfield, with 28 points after nine wins, one draw and six losses.
Nantwich Town players, coaches and staff were honoured at the club’s annual end of season awards.
It was a mixed season for the club with the men’s relegated despite showing real improvement under new manager Paul Carden.

The Ladies completed their season in the Premier Division of the Cheshire Women’s & Youth Football League with another victory.
