A popular Nantwich pub has had its licence amended after a committee ruled it was “undermining the prevention of public nuisance objective”.

The Leopard, on London Road, will now have to remove speakers from its “Hunter’s Hideout” building immediately.

Nantwich nightclub The Studio has been given permission to extend its opening hours on Fridays and Saturdays to 4.30am despite objections from some nearby residents.

The Studio, on Castle Street, currently has permission to open until 3.30am Monday to Saturday and until 2.30am on Sundays.

Twenty local residents have objected to plans to extend the licensing hours at Combermere Abbey Wedding Venue near Wrenbury, saying they are already disturbed by the late night noise.

The venue on Combermere Park Drive is currently licensed for events such as plays, dance performances, films, live and recorded music, as well as late night refreshment and the supply of alcohol.
