A new shared vision “for children and young people in Cheshire East” has been formally endorsed by the borough’s cabinet.
The vision includes aims such as making “families and communities strong, welcoming and supportive, where differences are celebrated”.
Bunbury Aldersey CE Primary school has been rated as “good” by Ofsted in its first inspection since becoming part of the Rural Church Schools Academy Trust in 2017.
The school, inspected in January under the new Ofsted framework, was rated outstanding in three out of the five categories.
Reaseheath College in Nantwich has been praised by Ofsted inspectors for the way it prepares students and apprentices for the world of work.
The latest Ofsted report, which rated the college “Good” overall, highlights its practical facilities and “ambitious and enthusiastic lecturers and instructors”.

Cheshire East Council children’s services could face a £167,000 budget cut – despite a recent Ofsted report saying it “requires improvement to be good”.
The proposed budget cut for “early help” children’s support in 2021-22 will not affect front-line services, councillors have been told.
Cheshire College – South & West has been rated “Good” in its latest Ofsted inspection.
It was the first full inspection since South Cheshire College and West Cheshire College merged in March 2017.

The report marks an amazing transformation over the last three years after it was placed in special measures in 2014 under its old name, Wyche Primary School.

Councillors have welcomed an Ofsted report which has praised Cheshire East’s children’s social care service, writes Stephen Topping.

Urgent measures to improve support for youngsters in Cheshire East with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND) have been drawn up following a damning inspection.
Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) found “serious weaknesses” when they assessed Cheshire East Council and NHS bodies in the borough on their provision for SEND support in March.

Ofsted inspectors have criticised Cheshire East Council for “serious weaknesses” in its services for youngsters with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND).
Now the authority has to provide a ‘Written Statement’ to Ofsted to outline how it intends to improve.
More than 92% of primary school applicants from Cheshire East have secured their first preference, says the authority.
Thousands of parents found out this week if they had secured their choice of primary school for youngsters starting in September.
