Cash-strapped Cheshire East Council is to reorganise its senior management structure which, a report states, is ‘no longer considered fit for purpose’.
The council last reviewed its senior management team in 2019 and further changes were made in 2021.

There’s so much to say about this report on the state of Cheshire East Council, completed by the Local Government Association in March, and published on 9th July 2024, that I fear I will drive you to drink if I tackle all of it in this letter.

Cheshire East will have to stump up nearly £2m to fund an improvement plan to bring its children’s services up to standard, according to a council report.

A damning audit report on Cheshire East Council’s arrangements for managing S106 agreements has revealed millions of pounds hasn’t been allocated to agreed schemes.
A summary of the report to the audit and governance committee stated eight contributions received between 2018/19 and 2021/22 totalling £5.8 million were identified as unallocated.
