Plans for the Crewe Green Link Road to the A500 are back on after the Chancellor backed the scheme today. George Osbourne said he and the Department for Transport will fund 60 per cent, (£16.5m) of the £27million cost of the road.

Bats will be spreading their previously-torn wings for Halloween after a new way of treating them was discovered at a Nantwich animal centre. Nantwich farmers are being advised to attend a free training event in Cheshire to get to grips with health and safety in one of Britain’s most dangerous industries. Nearly 8,000 free places are being made available at Safety and Health Awareness Days (SHADs) across the country, with the aim of cutting the number of deaths and injuries.
Members of an Audlem group were among the first to take a tour around Reaseheath College’s new Anaerobic Digestion (AD) plant. The plant was built at the Nantwich college to show the opportunities that exist with on-farm AD.
