A Nantwich man is campaigning to have what he believes are misspelt names on Nantwich War Memorial amended.

Mark Potts says at least five – and possibly more – of the names on the town square memorial have errors in them.

Coole Lane between Nantwich and Audlem which was axed from Cheshire East’s winter gritting programme have been re-instated following a number of accidents.

The route will be gritted again following six incidents, and is one of two to be reinstated including Brook Street in Macclesfield.

Cheshire East Council is bidding for nearly £158k of government funding to install electric vehicle charging points in its towns.

The council has identified sites in nine towns – including Snow Hill car park in Nantwich – as part of this phase to install charging points for residents unable to charge vehicles at home.

Footfall in the ‘half demolished’ Crewe has increased by 36% but fallen by 5% in Knutsford, according to latest Cheshire East figures.

Figures show Crewe has increased footfall more than any other town, with Nantwich second with an increase of 26%.
