Nantwich Town Council to sponsor International Cheese Awards marquee

Nantwich Town Council is to be the main sponsor of the International Cheese Awards Marquee at this year’s Nantwich Show.

Councillors voted unanimously to back a five-year sponsorship deal which they believe will provide major benefits to the town.

Children using the Wingate Children’s Centre near Nantwich will now have access to a new specialist bed.

The Wingate trust in Wrenbury needed the “rise and fall” bed to provide a safer and more accessible sleeping environment for the children with cerebral palsy, Down’s syndrome and those on the autism spectrum.

More than £150,000 being spent on consultants brought to rid Cheshire East Council of bullying will not solve the problem, the Labour group leader insists.

A report from the Local Government Association (LGA), commissioned by Cheshire East, found that almost a quarter of council staff were aware of workplace bullying in the second half of 2017.

Floristry students from Reaseheath College in Nantwich proved they are among the nation’s best by winning bronze in the finals of the RHS Chelsea Future Florists with a display inspired by the Royal wedding.

The students, competing at the prestigious RHS Chelsea Flower Show, were challenged to create a floral arch for a Spring wedding just days after the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
