South Cheshire people turned out in Nantwich to cheer on two former kickboxing champions as they stepped back in the ring raise money for charities close to their hearts.

There was standing room only at Civic Hall during a night of entertainment including interviews with ring legends Frank Bruno and Tony Bellew.

Mid Cheshire Hospitals Charity staff raised £2,000 from a‘Fashion and Fizz’ evening in Nantwich.

The event, at Nantwich Town’s Weaver Stadium, saw 70 guests enjoy a full fashion show while sampling sparkling wines to raise funds for the charity’s “Everybody Knows Somebody’” dementia appeal.

A retired stonemason who left a matchbox buried in a wall at Beeston Castle has been reunited with it – more than 50 years later!

Martin Goulding, now 78, left the box and a note inside buried in a supporting wall of a toilet block he helped to erect in the ancient castle grounds back in 1964.
