Call to save Little Bus lifeline for elderly people across South Cheshire

Cheshire East Council chiefs are being urged to protect a lifeline for elderly residents looking to get from A to B.

Cheshire East Council delayed making cuts to its Little Bus service as part of last year’s bus review, which saw a reduction in the number of subsidised bus services.

Cheshire Police said the accident involves a lorry and has closed the road in both directions.

Ian Naude was today (December 13) sentenced to 30 years (25 years custodial and five years on licence) following a hearing at Liverpool Crown Court.

Residents are calling on police and the fire service to make sure their new home does not cause traffic and parking problems.

Plans are in the pipeline for the existing fire station, in Macon Way, to be knocked down and replaced by a new station for both firefighters and the police – who are set to move from Civic Centre.

South Cheshire bar firm Beer Dock is raffling off a signed guitar of the late Pete Shelley, to raise funds for local Foodbanks.

Sam McGarrigle, who runs Beer Dock with shops in Crewe and Nantwich, remembered he had the guitar stored away after Buzzcocks frontman Shelley died aged 63 last week.

Cheeky garden gnomes in Wistaston who were targeted by vandals, have made a triumphant return to the village.

Residents were furious when popular pensioner Laurence Perry had 25 of his gnomes smashed or stolen from his Westfield Drive garden and land at the front of his property.
