Cheshire East to stage free holiday activities for some children

Thousands of free places for activities over the Christmas school holidays are available for Cheshire East children eligible for income-related free school meals.

Cheshire East Council is working with schools, childcare providers and community and voluntary organisations to organise free activities which are now available to book in a new online system.

Cheshire East is aiming to make S106 agreements more flexible after a damning internal audit report revealed millions of pounds had not been allocated to agreed schemes.

S106 agreements are contracts between the council and developers to secure financial or other contributions to mitigate the impact of new housing developments.
