A Nantwich and Cheshire based photographer has won two merit prizes for Classical Wedding and Landscape categories, in a major international photography awards. New sign for Willaston street after bin problems

New street signs are to be erected at a Willaston cul-de-sac after residents’ complained their bins were not being collected. The new signs will go up for The Fields, off Cheerbrook Road, Willaston, in the next few weeks, Cheshire East Council has confirmed. Nantwich-based radio station The Cat has been awarded a £2,000 grant from the Co-Operative Group’s Community Fund. Crewe & Nantwich Community Radio Society, which operates as The Cat from its two studios in Nantwich, received the cheque from the Co-Operative Local Area Committee, representing the North West and North Midlands Region.

Nantwich cafe to host pre-school French classes

A popular cafe in Nantwich is to stage fun French classes for youngsters from next week. Kay Leydon will run the La Jolie Ronde pre-school sessions at Funky Monkey, on Regents Park, London Road, every Wednesday. La Jolie Ronde focuses on learning through fun songs, puppets, games and rhymes. Mums and dads will also be encouraged to join in.
