Woore CC’s relentless march towards promotion took another huge stride as they beat Stafford to retain second position and a 59-point lead over their third-placed rivals Sandyford.
With another maximum 25 points win, the second half of the season is looking extremely promising.

The visitors were reduced to 6 for 2 after being put into bat, before their Sri Lankan pro Dissanagge Eranga Thilina Rathanayake, nicknamed “Rangi” (pictured), took charge.

Twelve-year-old Matthew Kenvyn scored his first ever 50 in men’s cricket when he opened the batting for Woore CC 3rds against Crewe.
Although Woore were beaten, the youngster scored a remarkable 70 not out having carried his bat throughout the innings in the Stone and District Sunday League.
