Cake lovers across Cheshire will be decorating, baking and icing next month as part of the Hope House and Ty Gobaith Eat Cake Week from April 8-15.
Cafes, restaurants, schools, clubs, businesses and individuals are taking part including Nantwich Library who are holding a coffee and cake morning in the run up to Eat Cake week on Thursday April 4.
Free “Residents’ Festival” tickets for local attractions such as Crewe Lyceum, Hack Secret Bunker, Nantwich Museum and Reaseheath College’s mini zoo have been released online.
Hundreds more free tickets are available to download for the festival, taking place between Saturday March 30 and Sunday April 7.
A talk called “A Bit of a Journey” by award-winning landscape photographer and author Mark Gilligan will be hosted by Nantwich Camera Club.
The talk takes place at a special event at 7.30pm on Tuesday March 26 at the club’s meeting room on Regents Park, London Road, Nantwich.
Nantwich Film Club returns in April when it screens “Under The Tree”.
The screening will take place on Monday April 8 at Nantwich Civic Hall.
The British Hen Welfare Trust’s (BHWT) Cheshire team is on a roll – with a third re-homing event set to take place in Nantwich.
It follows on from two very successful events in January and February where the team helped more than 700 hens find pet homes.
Nantwich Jazz, Blues and Music Festival organisers have unveiled the full line up and programme for this year’s event.
The festival, April 18-22, will feature Martin Turner, ex-Wishbone Ash bass player on the opening Thursday night.
Nantwich Library will be in fine voice when it stages a fundraising singing event for this year’s Comic Relief.
The event is on Wednesday March 13 from 11am at the Beam Street venue.
Nantwich Museum is celebrating Pancake Day on Shrove Tuesday (March 5).
Pancakes and refreshments will be served in the Millennium Gallery from 10.30am until 12.30pm.
Nantwich author Chrisoula Sirigou will be staging a book signing event to celebrate World Book Day.
Chrisoula will be at Nantwich Bookshop and Cafe on the town square on Tuesday March 7.
Mid Cheshire Hospitals Charity is holding a Fashion & Fizz evening to raise funds for its Everybody Knows Somebody dementia appeal.
Attendees will be treated to four glasses of wines and Prosecco from around the world, supplied by Nantwich wine merchants Rodney Densem Wines.
A talk by Professor Andrew Hopper of The University of Leicester called “The Human Costs of the Civil War” will take place at Nantwich Museum.
It will be held at 2pm this Friday, February 15.
Crewe Town Councillors have unveiled a programme of events to try and attract more visitors after the success of the Lumen show at Christmas.
The month-long festive attraction, which projected a winter fairytale onto the frontage of Municipal Buildings, was hailed a success after attracting more than 11,000 people on its launch night.
