Cash-strapped Cheshire East Council is paying a whopping £1,298 a day for its new temporary director of finance.
Adele Taylor was appointed to the role of S151 officer on an interim basis following the resignation of Alex Thompson.

Cheshire East Council is on the hunt for another top officer after head of finance Alex Thompson handed in his notice.
Mr Thompson is quitting as director of finance and customer service in May to become executive director for finance and transformation at Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council.
Liv Westhead has been appointed the first ever assistant musical director for Cheshire upper voices choir, Decibellas.
Liv, 30, a singer and singing teacher in the county, will support Marcus Williams, musical director with Decibellas since 2016.

Local TV director David Parker is giving an illustrated talk entitled ‘Laurie Lee – The Lost Recordings’ at the Nantwich Bookshop & Coffee Lounge.
