Nantwich Civic Society entertained 31 members of Lancaster Civic Society with a trip around the town. They were met at Nantwich Civic Centre by Civic Society members and Town Mayor, Christine Farrall before enjoying a tour of the town.
The popular plant and book sale organised by Nantwich Museum Trust will take place at the museum on June 7. A wide selection of keenly priced plants and books will be available for sale in aid of museum funds.
Nantwich Museum featured a part of its “Celebration of Salt” exhibition at the Salt Sunday event held at Winnington. The exhibition focussed on the literary celebrations of the local salt industry.
A packed Nantwich Civic Hall welcomed in the new Mayor of Nantwich, Cllr Christine Farrall. The former headteacher was sworn in as the town council’s new chair, taking over from outgoing mayor Cllr John Lewis.
Young artistic talents of Nantwich primary schools are celebrating success in a local competition. Five schools participated in the 2014 Rotary Art Competition organised by The Rotary Club of Nantwich.
An exhibition by local artist Kate McKennan has opened at Nantwich Museum. Kate’s exhibition of paintings and drawings are on show in the Millennium Gallery until Saturday June 21.
A big band music concert Thanks for the Memory will help raise money for Nantwich Museum’s work with dementia sufferers. The concert, which will feature music from the 30s to the 60s from the Dave Egerton Band, takes place at 2pm on Sunday May 11.
Nantwich Museum has been given a funding boost of £400 from Nantwich Rotary Club. The donation will help museum staff at the Pillory Street venue keep the facility running.
Members of Nantwich Walled Garden Society have vowed to fight to restore the garden and turn it into a tourist attraction. The garden site is owned by a private developer who has permission from Cheshire East Council to build properties on the site.
Nantwich parents can take advantage of workshops at the town’s museum during Easter school holidays. The first workshops will take place at Nantwich Museum on April 9 and 10, with activities based on local history.
A talk is being staged at Nantwich Museum as part of the town’s Oxfam Books and Music shop 30th birthday. The talk takes place at 7.30pm tomorrow (March 27) at the Pillory Street museum and will be delivered by Ian Henderson.
