I have noticed that roadworks renovations are currently underway at the Reaseheath Roundabout.
While infrastructure improvements are always welcome, I assume these works are in preparation for the long-delayed Reaseheath bypass A51 spine road, which is now (finally) set to open in June – more than three years behind schedule.
A motorcyclist was badly hurt after a collision closed a busy road in Shavington for around two hours earlier today (February 11)
The incident happened on the Newcastle Road close to the Yellowstone Garage.
Highways bosses at Cheshire East Council have declined an interview to explain the current situation with the borough’s crumbling road network.

The ‘Welcome to Crewe’ road sign on Nantwich Road went missing in February.
A faulty telegraph pole sparked a blaze in Shavington which caused police to close a busy road.
The incident happened on Newcastle Road in Shavington with motorists cruising past the blaze seemingly unaware.
Nantwich residents are being warned about delays and disruption in the town amid a host of road schemes and utility repair works over next few weeks.

We are in Cornwall at the moment returning home tomorrow, have yet to see a pothole, in fact we are having withdrawal symptoms due to not having too continually meander to miss holes in the road.
CEC please contact Cornwall Council for advice on road maintenance and management.

The inaugural Nantwich 10k Road Race was a massive hit with organisers and participants.
The race took 250 participants on a 10 kilometre (6.2 miles) loop on closed roads, starting on Waterlode opposite Nantwich Town Football Club.
Anybody who has tried to cross a road in a town or village will have been faced with drivers that don’t ‘let’ you cross the road.
They speed away giving little acknowledgement to those trying to cross the road in particular the old and vulnerable.
Motorists in Crewe and Nantwich are being warned of some disruption as Cheshire East Council steps up its road repairs programme in next few weeks.
