Plans for 29 holiday lodges at marina site set for approval

Plans for up to 29 holiday lodges at a marina site near Nantwich have been recommended for approval.

Church Minshull Aqueduct Marina Limited wants to change the use of agricultural land so the lodges and a manager’s cabin can be provided on the site, which is on the Middlewich branch of the Shropshire Union Canal.

Plans have been submitted for holiday lodges at Aqueduct Marina near Nantwich which would create 14 new jobs.

Church Minshull Aqueduct Marina Limited has applied to Cheshire East Council for permission to change the use of agricultural land so up to 29 holiday lodges and a manager’s cabin can be provided on the site.

WARNING DISTRESSING IMAGES – Man guilty of stabbing dog and leaving her to drown in Nantwich canal

A man has been banned from keeping animals for 10 years after he stabbed his poorly dog twice and chained a heavy weight around her body and left her drowning in a canal in Nantwich.

Brendan Murphy, 52, who lives on a barge on the Shropshire Union Canal, was found guilty of three animal welfare offences when he appeared at Chester Magistrates’ Court.
