Staff and visitors to Leighton Hospital helped raise more than £3,700 during Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. The Macmillan Cancer Unit at the hospital in Crewe raised £3,312 through donations in exchange for slices of home-made cake.
The success of Paralympics GB team is living on at the Wingate Centre in Wrenbury, near Nantwich. The centre has received a donation from Sainsbury’s Nantwich which includes a haul of Paralympic athlete-themed advertising.
Hundreds of people turned out in Nantwich for the official opening of the new St Luke’s Hospice shop on Pillory Street. Young and old alike crammed into the new Swirly Whirly store, which will serve crepes, ice cream and other treats.
