A prolific shoplifter who has targeted stores in Nantwich and Crewe has been banned from entering convenience stores across the area as part of efforts to tackle his offending.
Ian McIntyre, 45, was handed the two-year order at Chester Magistrates’ Court following multiple incidents of shoplifting across Crewe and the surrounding areas.

Nantwich nightclub The Studio has been given permission to extend its opening hours on Fridays and Saturdays to 4.30am despite objections from some nearby residents.
The Studio, on Castle Street, currently has permission to open until 3.30am Monday to Saturday and until 2.30am on Sundays.
Rural bus services around Nantwich could be cut under new plans unveiled by Cheshire East Council.
But a direct service from the town to Leighton Hospital looks set to be reinstated if the proposals go ahead.
The new Crewe Bus Station has opened its doors today (May 7) following a two-year construction project.

Labour candidate Dan Price has won the election to become Cheshire’s next Police and Crime Commissioner.

Plans for a car wash on vacant land near Nantwich Town’s stadium have sparked noise and environmental concerns as well as traffic-related fears.
A total of 34 residents – mainly neighbours – have objected to the proposal earmarked for land which is sometimes used as an overspill car park on match days.
