Drivers are being warned of road closures from May as work begins on overhauling the road network near Leighton Hospital as part of the North West Crewe Package.

Cheshire East Council is urging residents and motorists to sign up to receive updates as a long section of the A530 is set to close from May 9.

Cheshire East Council spends more than £230,000 a week on taxis taking children to and from school.

Figures obtained by the Local Democracy Reporting Service (LDRS) through Freedom of Information (FOI) reveal the council pays for 887 children to go to school by taxi at an approximate cost of £231,959.67 per week.

Nantwich town councillors are bloomin’ furious after Cheshire East Council said it was more than doubling the cost of watering its floral displays in the town.
