An assistance dog whose quick action saved a Reaseheath College student from a potentially devastating house fire has won a national award.
German shepherd Mia, a specially trained medical alert dog, rescued Melody Chen after she lost consciousness due to a medical episode at home.

Cheshire East Council has been paying for 3,000 mobile phones for its staff but 500 of those have not been used for several months, a councillor said.

Cheshire East Council is to press ahead with plans to close its Westfields headquarters at Sandbach.
The corporate policy committee voted unanimously yesterday (November 30) to close the building to save money.
The Mayor of Nantwich has officially opened the newly refurnished Snowhill toilets in the town centre.
