The head of planning at Cheshire East Council has hit back at claims that fewer homes should be built in the borough over the next 12 years.

Cheshire East adopted its Local Plan for up to 2030 last July, complete with the promise to deliver 1,800 new homes every year.

A plant which will turn food and green waste into compost is set to be built near Leighton Hospital after councillors gave it the go-ahead.

Biowise has been given planning permission to build the plant on land off Middlewich Road – just 1.3km away from the hospital, and 500m away from the nearest homes.

The former HR officer, of Connah’s Quay, has taken Cheshire East Council to an employment tribunal after her employment came to an end on December 31, 2016 – just weeks after trying to raise concerns through the whistle-blowing procedure.

More than £150,000 being spent on consultants brought to rid Cheshire East Council of bullying will not solve the problem, the Labour group leader insists.

A report from the Local Government Association (LGA), commissioned by Cheshire East, found that almost a quarter of council staff were aware of workplace bullying in the second half of 2017.
