Award-winning writer/director and Cheshire native Dan Freeman is bringing his version of the legendary story to St Mary’s Church.
Popular Nantwich farm shop Cheerbrook will feature in activities at Nantwich Museum during the 2022 Nantwich Food Festival.
Staff from Cheerbrook, based on Newcastle road, will give a free talk and a practical demonstration with samples on the making of their Scotch Eggs at Nantwich Museum.
Organisers say this year’s Nantwich Food Festival will be bigger and better than ever before, despite rising prices and a three-year absence due to Covid.
They say backing from Nantwich Town Council and Cheshire East Council as well as a range of sponsors mean the festival, including chef demonstrations, can continue to be free.

A music concert featuring Jedburgh Royal British Legion (Scotland) Pipe Band and The Band and Drums of the Cheshire Constabulary will take place at Nantwich Civic Hall on Saturday September 24.
The concert is organised by the Nantwich & District Branch of the Royal British Legion and supported by Nantwich Town Council. The program sponsor is Lloyd Crossan Group.
An ice cream drive-in has opened in Cheshire at the popular attraction, The Ice Cream Farm.
The venue – near Tattenhall – is now serving scoops made by its neighbour Cheshire Farm Ice Cream to visitors in the comfort of their car.
Producers are hoping their “Crimes on Centre Court” show will ace the audience when they serve up their performance at Crewe Lyceum Theatre next month.
Crimes on Centre Court aims to deliver a dose of mirth, murder and mayhem, along with a side of tennis on Tuesday and Wednesday September 13-14.
Nantwich Players are to present Tom Wells’ “Big Big Sky” as the premiere of the group’s new season.
The heart-warming play is set in the small town of Kilnsea, East Yorkshire, where Angie and Lauren are closing up the café for another winter.

Crewe-based The Boulton Group have become a “Gold Festival Sponsor” of the town centre festival which will be held September 2-4.
Summer Holiday workshops will run at Nantwich Museum on four separate days in August. The drop-in workshops are inspired by the Pillory Street venue’s new “A Spectacle of Sport” exhibition and will take place on August 10, 11, 17 and 18. A fund-raising ‘Charity Weekender’ Northern Soul music & dance event will take place August 13-14.
It will run from 3.30pm-1am on Saturday and 1pm-10.30pm on Sunday at Nantwich Town Football Club.

A ‘Steam & Vintage Gathering’ took place at the Peacock Railway, raising vital funds for the organisers.
The event was organised by the members of the South Cheshire Model Engineering Society and took place on their premises at the rear of The Peacock Inn off Crewe Road in Willaston.
This Wednesday sees the return of the Nantwich Show after a three-year break due to poor weather and the pandemic.
The show’s new Showground is now off Wettenhall Road, behind the Reaseheath College campus in Nantwich.

Shavington Drama Group opened their latest production of The Hollow by Agatha Christie at The Players Theatre in Nantwich last night (July 19).
Directed by Adam Goode, The Hollow is a classic whodunit mystery which will keep you guessing until the very end.
