A councillor had raised concerns about a busy road junction in Crewe after another accident there.

Cllr James Pratt says there have been several bad collisions at the junction of Frank Webb Avenue and Badger Avenue.

CEC pays for 3,000 mobile phones with 500 unused, says councillor

Cheshire East Council has been paying for 3,000 mobile phones for its staff but 500 of those have not been used for several months, a councillor said.

Cllr James Pearson, of Wrenbury Ward, also said the council had now put a phone “amnesty box” inside a staff entrance at Westfields.

A Cheshire East councillor has spoken publicly about having to seek medical help because he wanted to take his own life – but said he still doesn’t know why he suddenly felt suicidal.

Cllr Stewart Gardiner was speaking at a meeting of the health and wellbeing board during a discussion on the Cheshire East self-harm and suicide prevention action plan.

Crewe & Nantwich MP Kieran Mullan has slammed Cheshire East Council and its new Shavington councillor for failing to save the former youth club venue in the village.

The authority looks set to sell off the building on Main Road despite a two-year campaign to save the facility.

A Nantwich councillor has called for “radical changes” to local bus services.

Cllr Anna Burton said not having a direct link to Leighton Hospital was “preposterous” and urged residents to get involved in the current consultations.

A long-standing Nantwich councillor has called on Cheshire Police to re-open the town’s police station helpdesk as the local population continues to rise.

Cllr Arthur Moran has tabled a “notice of motion” which will be discussed by town councillors at their monthly meeting this week (July 13).

Wybunbury councillor questions £320,000 audit report into CEC culture

A councillor has questioned the “appropriateness” of a report into Cheshire East’s culture being carried out by the person who was the council’s auditor at the time of the issues being investigated.

Grant Thornton wants to bill the council a whopping £319,370 for the public interest report it did on the impact of the council’s culture and governance arrangements during 2014 – 2018.
