LETTER: Police vehicles parking on double yellow lines
Dear Editor,
Two police vehicles were parked on double yellow lines outside Crewe Police Station on Thursday morning.
I emailed the Chief Constable to ask for a response.

Dear Editor,
The Labour/Independent-run Cheshire East Council has been asked to re-think the Middlewich Eastern Bypass scheme in the light of significant delays, soaring costs and failure to submit a sufficiently robust business case.
Dear Editor,
Ban retail developments outside Town Centre. #CreweFirst says that Cheshire East should ban any new, out of town centre, major shopping developments in Crewe.
There is now a huge gaping hole in Crewe Town Centre where the, doomed from the start, #RoyalArcade development, was planned to go.
Dear Editor,
It has taken a while but the Borough Council have done an excellent job in restoring and improving ‘the Promenade’ – that area of paving overlooking the old mill race, opposite the Castle Court flats on Waterlode, near the footway to Mill Island.
Dear Editor,
This is how #CreweFirst would revive Crewe Town Centre.
Labour-run Cheshire East needs to re-think plans for Crewe Town Centre…and urgently… before the entire Town Centre collapses like a house of cards.
Dear Editor,
I am writing in support of national charity Living Streets’ call to see 60% of children walking to school by 2029.
Fewer than half of primary school aged children walk to school in England, this is a drop from 70% a generation ago.
Dear Editor,
Instead of this, how about resurfacing the current roads and trim the foliage on the trees that are covering the road signs that show the speed limit and directions.
Especially if you’re a tourist or new to the area you want to know where you are and the speed limits!
Dear Editor,
I managed to get some action following a complaint from a resident.
I wrote to Cheshire East Highways: “Flowers Lane, near Leighton Hospital is now closed, so could the traffic light for Flowers Lane be turned off to help traffic flow? Cars are taking ages to get through.”
Dear Editor,
The Government get a lot of unfair criticism, but they have policies which should appeal to everyone irrespective of their views.
If you want economic growth, they say they do too, but if you don’t, you’ll be reassured that in reality the economy is flatlining.
Dear Editor,
In light of recent investigations into the possible exploitation of pets’ bills and treatment, I feel all owners need to be aware of how quickly these can escalate without much information from a vet.
An ‘over-zealous’ vet could well assure you that there is a desperate need for all procedures they recommend.
Dear Editor,
Lymphoma Action are hosting three Regional Lymphoma Days in May and June to provide information and support to people affected by lymphoma, a type of blood cancer.
Readers might be interested in this opportunity to hear from lymphoma experts and meet others with similar experiences of the condition.
Dear Editor,
Will someone have to die before the potholes are repaired?
Police only detect 6% of crime….a record LOW. Less than 6% of potholes in Cheshire East are repaired.
Dear Editor,
What a confused exercise the Chancellor’s Budget turned out to be, pointing in all directions.
He claimed to have cut taxes, but because of the stealth tax increases he and Rishi Sunak introduced earlier, the record level of tax will increase not decrease.
