Leighton Hospital among those receiving 7,000 teddy bears

Leighton Hospital and other Cheshire hospitals have received a donation of 7,000 cuddly teddy bears.

The bears, from the Freemasons of Cheshire, will help ease anxiety felt by children going to hospital.

Baby gull found trapped treated at RSPCA Stapeley

A baby gull is recovering at the RSPCA wildlife centre in Nantwich after becoming trapped in a narrow gap between two roofs at a business in Crewe.

The bird was in difficulty after falling into an area which could not be easily accessed at a retail unit on Weston Road.

Kittens rescued from shed nursed by RSPCA Stapeley Grange

A litter of “pirate” kittens are being looked after by RSPCA team in Nantwich after they were rescued from a shed at just two weeks old.

The six kittens and their two-year-old mum, who was not microchipped and thought to be feral, were found in Crewe by a member of the public.

Nantwich ultra-runner raises thousands in 24-hour charity challenge

Nantwich ultra-runner Paul Dean has completed a gruelling 24-hour challenge to raise more than £3,500 for Cancer Research UK.

Paul, a father and teaching assistant from Nantwich, started his epic run on Friday at 6pm and completed a 4.5-mile loop circuit, around the streets of Willaston and Wistaston, every hour up to 5pm the following day.
